Front Door Security Many burglaries occur through the front door. Secured by Design recommends all front doors should have a British Standard mortice deadlock fitted one third from the bottom of the door, as well as a nightlatch fitted one third from the top. In addition, door bolts should be fitted top and bottom, with a door chain and viewer to identify callers. CLICK HERE FOR FULL DEMO NOW
Back Door Security Your home is only as strong as its weakest point. The back door requires just as much consideration as the front.
Secured by Design recommends it should be fitted with a British Standard mortice sashlock plus door bolts fitted at the top and bottom of the door. CLICK HERE FOR FULL DEMO NOW
Window Locks 6 out of every 10 burglaries begin with entry through a window at the back of the house. Some of these burglaries are made by simply easing an already open window and many are made by breaking the glass and reaching in to release the window catch.
Window locks secure the window to the frame by a simple bolt or clasp operation. This means that forced entry can only be made by breaking all the glass in the window and climbing through. The time it takes to do this, the noise it creates, and the prospect of injury is often enough to deter the opportunist burglar.
Window locks are relatively inexpensive, simple to fit, very easy to operate and are available for a wide range of different window applications.
Securing Patio Doors Sliding patio doors are particularly vulnerable to forced entry and extra care should be taken to ensure that these entry points are secure. It is recommended that for added security patio door locks should be fitted to both the top and bottom of the sliding door to increase protection against forced attack.
